Marina Roy
MSc. OT & Owner of Inspire Ability

Marina holds a background in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University in Halifax. She is dedicated to providing client-centered, community-based healthcare to support her client's in reaching their goals. In the fall of 2024 after moving back to her home in Interior BC, Marina founded Inspire Ability with a vision to make occupational therapy more accessible in Revelstoke and surrounding areas. Recognizing the gap in available services, she sought to create a practice that delivers inclusive, personalized care directly in clients' homes, workplaces, and schools. Her passion for helping others regain independence and improve their quality of life continues to drive her work. Her expertise spans a variety of areas, including working with children in home and school settings, return-to-work programs, post-concussion management, wheelchair fittings and home health assessments, aging in place, and supporting her clients with return-to-function. She collaborates with numerous companies in the community to expand the accessibility of occupational therapy services and is dedicated to continuous learning. Outside of her professional life, Marina enjoys road biking, exploring trails, fostering animals, painting, cooking, planning vacations, and spending time with her husband and two pups.

Emily Grinton
Kinesiologist & Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CPT)

Emily graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2015 with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Since then, she has been dedicated to helping individuals improve their movement, strength, and overall well-being as a kinesiologist and clinical exercise physiologist. She has pursued extensive continuing education, specializing in working with older adults, pre- and post-natal clients, individuals with metabolic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, and athletic performance training. Emily has also completed all three levels of Neurokinetic Therapy and is a certified health and wellness coach. She is currently expanding her expertise with specialized training in working with individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Emily’s primary areas of practice include injury rehabilitation, fitness training, and supporting individuals with metabolic conditions. She is passionate about creating an engaging and supportive environment that empowers her clients to reach their health and fitness goals. In addition to her work with Inspire Ability as a rehab assistant, Emily owns and operates Stoke Fitness and Kinesiology in Revelstoke, where she provides active rehabilitation for ICBC clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, as well as personalized fitness training. Outside of her professional life, Emily enjoys spending time with family, camping, playing hockey, and skateboarding.

Breanne Black
Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT)

Breanne holds a Master of Occupational Therapy degree and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Business Administration Diploma from Camosun College. Her career in occupational therapy has taken her across Alberta and British Columbia, where she has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient services for adults and pediatrics, long-term care and dementia care, inpatient surgery and medicine units, home care, and school-based therapy. These experiences have allowed her to work with individuals of all ages, fostering a deep appreciation for client-centered and strength-based approaches to therapy. She is committed to building trusting, supportive relationships with her clients, and as her practice has evolved, she has increasingly focused on addressing the unique needs of adults, providing dedicated support to help them navigate life’s challenges. Passionate about lifelong learning, Breanne continually seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills in occupational therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and being on the lake, embracing the outdoors whenever possible.

Desiree Roy
Administrative Manager

As the Administrative Manager at Inspire Ability, Desiree ensures smooth operations while supporting the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services. With a BFA in Visual Arts from UBC and experience managing small businesses, she brings a keen eye for design, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a passion for fostering growth and connection both online and within the community. In her role, Desiree oversees administrative tasks, manages billing and insurance processes, and contributes creatively to the company’s online presence. She is dedicated to supporting the team, ensuring clients receive the best possible care. Outside of work, Desiree enjoys gardening, creating art, cooking, and baking—especially when she can share her creations with others. Always eager to learn and grow, sheactively seeks new skills and opportunities for personal and professional development.
